Reflections on the road to Recovery from alcoholism- The mornings

Reflections...
...on the Road to Recovery

                                                  The Morning

When I was drinking, I would wake up and think, "Oh my God, it's the morning."

In recovery I wake and think, "It's the morning, good morning God."

How did you and do you now wake in the morning?

  1. When I did actually sleep, I woke up in a state of panic and fear because my days were usually filled with pain, sickness, shame and guilt. Today, I wake up knowing that my days will be what I make them and I always feel optomistic after I've done my morning reading. I'm not always whistling and skipping through my days, but I know that at the end of the day--I will be sober!!!
